Belgian beers are legendary, and for good reason - brewing in Belgium is a tradition that dates back to the 1100s, when abbeys brewed beer to raise money, and when drinking low-alcohol beer was more sanitary than drinking water... Centuries later, Belgian beers are going stronger than ever, and Belgian beers are seen as some of the best beers in the world.
They also benefit from a fantastic range, with Trappist beers, brewed in monasteries; the amazing lambic beers, with lambics, gueuze, fruit lambics and faro; Flanders red ale, very sour and oaky; white beers brewed with wheat; tripel, dubbel, blonde beers... And so, so many more.

La Chouffe is an unfiltered blond beer, re-fermented in the bottle, as well as in the barrel. It is pleasantly fruity, spiced with coriander and has a mild taste of hops. A La Chouffe embodies 'the sun in a glass' with its splendidly intense golden-yellow colour, and creamy collar of froth. Herbal fragrances make for a playful entrance, then the citrus makes itself known, followed by the refreshing aroma of fresh coriander.
These flavours combine into a flowery character that is perfectly complemented by a banana-like fruitiness, which can also be picked up in the taste. The coming together of these fresh fruity flavours ensures that the beer never has an over-heavy mouth feel at any point. The finish is agreeably herbal and peppery. La Chouffe is easy to drink and the first readily has you contemplating a second.

Lindeman’s Cuvée René is - without a doubt - the queen of gueuzes.
A blend of old and young lambics matures in large oak barrels and then undergoes a secondary fermentation in champagne bottles to achieve a dry finish with an effervescent carbonation.
Aromas and flavours of “dusty barnyard” and “earthy funk” can sound somewhat off-putting, but the notes of sour apple, lemon, and wood in this gueuze complement them nicely. Its lasting sour finish and medium body make this beer more adventurous than one might think.

There is no other beer like Timmermans Tradition Lambicus Blanche anywhere in the world.
It is made by bringing together lambic with the process used for brewing beers with malted wheat.
By the addition of spices such as coriander and dried orange zest, the beer has a light, fruity flavour, deliberately cloudy and subtly spicy.
Should ideally be drunk from an authentic stoneware jug.
An unconventional pale beer brewed as it once was in the farms of Pajottenland, with wheat added to a lambic. Its flavour is slightly tart and fairly rounded with a hint of lemon peel, slightly sweet but excellent as a thirst quencher.
