Verdant - Headband
It's fridaaaaay! Beautiful sunny day in Bath was also a enjoyable day for me, so I thought I'd try and cap it off with an offering from the Cornwall based Verdant brewery. I was accompanied on the journey home by my other half again, who this timed cracked open a little bottle of vino for her own tipsy ride.
Looking at the can we have a beautiful pastille orange colour with italic script writing showing 'Headband'. Then centre stage is some green hops with shimmering colours waving out like some kind of LSD trip.
First smell was a really vibrant fruity and tropical smell that seemed to be accelerating right up your nose. You can smell the hops bouncing to get out over a light and juicy background. Then the swig and first taste was just brilliant! Such a hoppy blast without a heavy feeling, light and fruity tastes just filled my mouth with only a tiny hint of bitterness at the end...just enough to keep you wanting more. Not sure I got the 'stinky cheese' that the blurb mentioned, but the 'caramel' could definitely be felt in the smooth flow of the drink.
Still sipping away 35 minutes in and this is one of my favourite drinks so far in my illustrious Tipsy-Train career...smooth, hoppy with fantastic fruity tastes popping in the mouth. At 440ml and 5.5%, it's a fair price, you just can't go wrong. Grab one for yourself as soon as you can and strap yourself in!
Have a great weekend, and Cheers!
