Northern Monk - Patrons Project 22.01 Good Measure // Independent North: Black Friday
Well, not going to lie a shit evening yesterday followed by a shit day today had me counting down to getting home....but it wasn't fished yet. Unfortunately, (for reasons I won't explain here) I was locked out of my own flat, so this beer sampling came in my car on the side of a road with some large cheesy chips, some battered mushrooms and a podcast for company.... The can was a cream on black design with the lighter colour representing some stitched clothes due to the collab between Northern Monk and Manchester clothes designed Good Measure.
First smell that hit me from my lonely car was that sweet, sweet cherry cutting right through, before the softer vanilla and custard tones came as a mellow ending. The following taste had a beautiful full chocolatey taste to it with that light cherry just hovering around it. The end of the mouthful then had those creamier flavours mentioned earlier with a sprinkle of coconut tight on the edge. The swigs from them on were just delicious as different compositions arrived each time, sometimes with the addition of berries or even a smoother feel. Basically a cracking stout that somehow composed my rage....so it must be damn good!
As always, I hope you enjoyed my personal review, but why not come into BeerCraft of Bath and try it for yourself!...🍺🤓 Han
