Magic Rock Brewing - Bearded Lady Dessert Edition. Black Forest Gateau
Train delay, tipping it with rain & not a great morning wakeup wasn't the best omen, but a solid Friday at work with a bit of marketing chucked in made things ok.
Some cracking stouts around at the mo, so decided to take a chance on this one as I'm a bit of a closet black forest gateau fan. Black can with dulled silver etching is hard to make out, but just catches the eye enough.
First smell is a full and boozy one with a scent of those six bubbling malts in the background. My next swig was definitely a big touch of beautiful black forest gateau with not too strong a coffee tinge at the back (which I was happy about). It's not quite a full and creamy as I was expecting, but it's certainly smooth and those malts really give you a delicious change with each taste. Bit too much cherry and not quite full enough to give me that wow factor, but it's certainly a quality drink that I'd recommend and sample again down the line.
As always, I hope you enjoyed my personal review, but why not come into Beercraft of Bath and try it for yourself!...🍺🤓 Han
