Gloucester Brewery - American Pale Ale
Nice day of Web stuff where I managed to freshen up a major part of the sight and get the warm fuzzy marketing feeling I used to get inside. Conversely, 85% of my lunch break was spent in a queue at the post office where about 30 people were in line to see 2 servers. We even got a mild "Jerry, Jerry!" moment where two woman exchanged whether or not you should have a go at the servers....if they'd had bigger handbags I think some shit might have gone down!
So, we've got a text heavy white can with the red, white and blue pastille USA colours of the American pale ale.
First smell is a thick tropical one with strong pineapple and just buzzing away underneath. First taste was certainly a hoppy one, but in my opinion too much of one, couldn't really absorb it without readjusting the mouth. Flavours were punchy, full and provided a wake up call, but the slight bitter edge at the back wasn't really to my liking. Alot of oomph for a American pale ale which was a pleasant surprise, but just not quite balanced enough to the quality of ingredients used.
As always, I hope you enjoyed my personal review, but why not come into @beercraftbath and try it for yourself!...🍺🤓 Han
