The Tipsy-Train Beer Blog with Dry & Bitter Brewing Company's Christian Bale Ale

September 13, 2019

Dry & Bitter Brewing Company - Christian Bale Ale

Dry & Bitter Brewing Company - Christian Bale Ale

Another steady day at work which I managed to get through after a pretty ropey night's sleep. I then get to the train station to find a delay of 16 minutes, so obviously there was reasonable pressure on this beer to raise my spirits.

Jack recommended I go for this Dry & Bitter beer, but my appreciation of Christian Bale made me go for this particular one. The design of the can is very comic heavy, with the white divided section and '"Christian" BALE ALE!' shouted at you in the old Batman 'POW! & 'OOMPH!' styles which I think is pretty fam cool.

A smooth can opening technique by me was followed by an even smoother smell of subtle fruity and tropical scents from the can. There were definitely hops in the air as well, and that really came through with the first taste. A strong hoppy hit with a dry tropical was a real pick-me-up, and for my part only a slight bitter after-taste on the tongue.

This was certainly a drink that I was enjoying and comfortably kicking back at 4.6% in a 440ml can. Nothing particularly mind-blowingingly different, but a really good IPA that I'd throughly recommend you give a try.

Not sure of the minutes to drink this one due to the delay, but safe to say I'm sitting back and looking forward to each sip.

Cheers!

Han
