The people trying to preserve the idea of real ale are just trying to preserver an idea of their youth. Just maybe in 40 years time i will be an even grumper old man complaining about how craft beer is the real beer!

With little access to good quality beers and a hankering for a drink in these trying times... I have taken it upon myself to try all the drinks I once loved two years ago and to see how my pallet has been spoiled

lets see how much of pretentious beer and cider twat I have become...

First smell is a rich coffee one, not overpowering but definitely punchy. The following swig was a fantastic creamy one, not too heavy on the coffee, which I liked, but boozy and full. After that it was just a stout with feint chocolate tones with mouthfeel and chilled drinkability. Top drink!

Strong banana straight out the bat with a recognisable strong lactose oomph. Following swig is a thicker banana taste with that chocolate background to it. It's full of mouthfeel and sweetness that pretty addictive to be honest. Tiny bit too overpowering on the banana side for me, but does what it says on the tin and is a cool try...

First smell is just a hazy apricot one, like you're balancing the fresh fruit on a beer and getting the consequences. The first swig is a boozy milkshake one that certainly made me open my eyes and exclaim in a relatively unmanly way. Juicy peach and apricot is crushed into this little 250ml can, than jacked up with 12% ABV to get the pulse quickening.

First taste is a vibrant one with a hint of NE like hops to get you excited with a malty finish. Following swig is full of a hoppy rush that's thick and zesty with more of a punch than I first expected. There's a definite citrusy buzz with each kickback accompanying an almost tropical IPA tickle at the back. One more surprise is a well balanced maltyness that just finishes this well-rounded beer off in a tidy way. Cracking Pale Ale.

First smell was a feint lime over a beer buzz in the background. The next swig unsurprisingly doesn't fall far from the (lime) tree, as that smooth lager taste gets that kick of lime throughout! Interesting and an expected drink, that's not a groin-grabbingly good beer, but certainly a nice twist on things!

Smooth fruity and zesty smell comes out with the can opening, very nice indeed. First swig is a powerful hoppy hit that certainly contains some juicy flavours, but it does die pretty quick. There's short tropical bursts that are sticky and tasty, so the ingredients used work well in the beer. As the sips go by the drink does go down a treat as a soft almost session pale ale...decent tipple!

First smell is a thick tropical one that seems to be almost biteable. The following swig is a cracking one that's full of hops and juicy flavours that're bursting out the can. And that's the thing really, you can tell those ingredients and double dry hops are just crushed into the can and ready for their quality to be tasted.
